General description
Software and computer technicians help validate and implement new software-related functionalities in various systems, such as high-power electric powertrain systems for electric vehicles, including batteries. Among other things, they are responsible for testing and activating software before putting it into operation. Every day they have the opportunity to leverage their knowledge and make a difference, not only on their team but also in the wider community, to help shape the future—transportation electrification!
Examples of tasks and responsibilities
- Analyze, develop, and execute test scripts in accordance with automotive industry standards and methodologies
- Participate in the development and formal testing phases of the software development lifecycle
- Write and review software test reports and documentation
- Run all regression tests
- Design and assemble electronic test benches for product software testing
- Help review completed work
Required skills
- Experience in embedded software design or testing
- Knowledge of C++, C, C#, Linux, Python, TestStand, etc.
- Knowledge of software validation tools (e.g., QAC, Polarion, Bamboo, and VectorCast)
- Ability to adapt to a variety of technical, network, and software environments and working methods
- Flexibility and a knack for working independently
- Good teamwork skills
- Curiosity and a constant desire to improve
- Ability to communicate in written and spoken English
