Hybrids 1: General Operation and Safety Measures

By the end of the course, students will know how to safely disable a hybrid system and follow all required steps before carrying out maintenance and repair. More specifically, students will be able to:

• Identify and describe the main components of parallel, series-parallel, and alternator-starter hybrid systems
• Explain the operating principle behind the three main types of hybrid system and identify which is used in vehicles on the market
• Locate the high-voltage components in each type of hybrid system
• Determine the potential danger of high-voltage components
• Disable a hybrid system
